Last month, we were tasked with decorating a 1300 pax wedding at a location that is used by sweaty, squeaky athletes on a daily basis, between 5pm-10pm. Where could this possible be? Dewan Ho Peng, or better known as the Ho Peng Badminton Hall.
Yep, that's right.
Our jaws went slack a little at the thought of turning this place that we actually run around in (Thursday evenings, join us!) into an actual wedding dinner venue, but then as always, our motto kicked it - CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. Well, not officially our motto. But close enough.
Lo and behold, ladies and gentlemen...welcome to the wedding of CY & SS.
We spruced up the otherwise drab and tired entrance with a red carpet, our new romantic white lanterns and an arch of hanging cherry blossoms.
Guests were greeted with a lovely opportunity for selfies and wefies.
If that wasn't enough, we set up a sparkly and glam photobooth backdrop.
We also had a registration table for guests to leave gifts, ang pau or a nice note for the couple.
We created a walkway of cherry blossom arches for the couple's red carpet grand entrance.
We wanted CY & SS to forget that this was a badminton court/chinese hall
This was the main table, surrounded by 4 pillars of flowers.
The cake was too cute, we have to include it in this post!
Kudos to the production team, Low Frequency, who did a great job as usual with the full concert setup complete with LED screens on stage and laser lights.
We didn't get a chance to meet CY & SS during their wedding as it was hard to bulldoze through a horde of 1300 guests, so we hope they loved their big day as much as we did. Congratulations, love birds!
