Sometimes we get asked this question: You guys are wedding planners and decorators, don't you think you should put on some makeup to look nice while you're working? The answer is, no.
Yes, our work involves melting under the sun a lot of the time but that's not the reason we skip the foundation. We are also constantly rushing, barely having time for toilet breaks but again, that's not why we put the lip gloss away.
No, the real reason is because sometimes we meet a bride and groom who make us cry.
This is Tina with her summerry bouquet of sunflowers, gerberas and pom poms. She and her husband Div make a very handsome couple, we must say. That's his corsage below, flanked by the bestmen's.
They stepped away from the romantic and demure colours, and went for a theme that was burgundy and yellows and royal blue
Their big day was dramatic weatherwise. One moment bright and sunny, and the next grey clouds loomed in a distance accompanied by strong winds by the beach of The Four Seasons.
Tina and Dev's wedding party was small, 16 pax including bride and groom.
Perhaps it was the intimacy of the wedding...
...or the heartfelt words exchanged between bride and groom that was supercharged with emotions mixed with nervousness....
...but oh man, did it make us cry! You'd think that after so many weddings week after week, year after year, we would be stoic and immune to things like "emotions" and "romance". Nope. We still cry at 30% of the weddings we help plan and create. Dev & Tina's fell into this category and we were glad when the ceremony was over as we could quickly wipe our tears (and embarrassment) away!
Phew, now on to the dinner at Upper Serai restaurant.
Tina requested to have little lanterns that guests could write messages on and float into the sea after dinner. In the beginning we balked at the idea, to be honest, as the concern was not to have harmful materials sinking into our sea. But with a little bit of ingenuity and Pinterest, we devised lanterns made out of bamboo mats, rice paper and satay sticks and voila! Biodegradable floating lanterns.
So we hope this explains and excuses out team for not wearing makeup during our weddings.
And to the beautiful couple who soon will be 3, thank you for a sweet and memorable wedding :)
